The Ahwahnee Hotel's real architect! (Reply to this comment)
by archaeo64
Notice that it's spelled "Ahwahnee" with TWO "h's"!
Furthermore, the architect was NOT Julia Morgan of San Simeon fame, but Gilbert Stanley Underwood!

Sure, if you can get near the place for Bracebridge. I think the tickets go by lottery, and I know of people who have tried for more than ten years and never gotten in. I can't think of anything that's worth waiting that long for!
Thanks for reading -

Well written as always! (Reply to this comment)

Yosemite is still our favorite place in the world - had our wedding reception there. I agree though, the food isn't all that fantastic - although I do hear it's better during Bracebridge and the Chef's Holidays in the winter!
Great review (again)!

The Ahwahnee restaurant didn't live up to my expectations either, given the absolute beauty of the diningroom and hotel. I must say though, the breakfast is wonderful. It's been over two years so I don't remember what we had, only that it was superb.
