Robbers Cave is located in Wahuton, Oklahoma. This is a park that is a must see for anyone traveling in Oklahoma. I recently visited this park in the hot summer. And believe me it was hot.
If you like to climb mountains, this is the place to go. We did not actually explore the caves. But we did enjoy the climb.
Robbers Cave is said to be the hideout of notorious outlaws such as Bell Starr. These outlaws would hide in the caves with their horses and ill-gotten loot. Some people say that there is buried treasure there. I have never found any.
There are many other activities beside mountain climbing. There is a lake for swimming. You can rent canoes and paddle boats. There are places to fish. Even have places to buy food. Or you can pack a picnic lunch like we did.
The scenery is beautiful and breathtaking. This is a great park for anyone to visit. There are places to camp in trailers or tents.
So if you like to explore new places, like we do. Check out Robbers Cave in Oklahoma. You will not be disappointed.
