Seyqouah state park is situated in between Tahlequah, Wagoner and Muskogee. Sitting on the edge of the Fort Gibson Lake. This campground and resort is one of the most visited in the eastern part of Oklahoma.
I have stayed at this campground both in the spring and autumn with my family. I sincerely enjoyed both my visits and hope to make more in the future.
What is has to offer.
Seyqouah, Has more then half a dozen campgrounds as well as a Resort Hotel and bungalows. Each campground has it's own set of services and facilities. Two campgrounds have swimming beaches, there is also a swimming pool at the Resort available which is to those that are tent camping or using there RV. 80% of the campgrounds have restroom and showers available. 60% Of the campgrounds allow both tent and RV camping. two of the campgrounds have childrens playgrounds. All but one of the campgrounds has boat ramps. Fishing is aloud at 3 campgrounds.
There is also a game room with about a dozen arcade rooms in the resort. A restaurant with medium priced meals. There are two water front tennis courts. Guest of the resort play for free campers may pay a nominal fee which includes racquet rental and ball use.
There is a nature center located on the main road with daily classes or presentations for the young ones of your group. There is a fitness trail which is basically a hiking trails with signs posted along the way with an exercise described for you to do. The trail is about 1.5 Miles in length.
Paddle boats and canoes are for rent by the hour at very reasonable rates and there is also and 18 hole golf course if you came to be reminded of your problems play if you want to forget them doing something relaxing!
Also it is very clean the only state park that I have seen cleaner is Western Hills, when you walked into the restroom if you didn't know better you would think you were at Perkins or somewhere. The park was exceptionally clean
What's bad about it?
In general this is a wonderful camp but it like any place has flaws. Some of the park attendants were extremely rude. at the time of my second visit half of the campgrounds were under water so it floods easily. Only 3 public phones in the entire park
Other
Being only a half an hour away from three medium size towns there is plenty to do outside of staying in the camp. Tahlequah and Muskogee are the bigger of the two Muskogee boasts a mall and two movie theatres. Tahlequah has some excellent places to eat and a couple of good museums.
