I came across Bald Peak one day while out driving around the back roads thinking about a very horrible relationship I was in. Up a windy road I drove till I came across a beautiful park. I stopped, then became my personal relaxation spot. It is so beautiful up there. You can see all of Newberg and the cascade peaks on a clear day.
When you are up there at night it is a breathtaking view of the lights of Newberg. But be careful if it's foggy you won't be able to see the road so turn around while you can and head back down the mountain. Once you get up their, there is a lot of high school sweethearts enjoying the view too. The lights are so beautiful and I go up there to think all the time. The only bad thing about this park would be that there is no running water. So if you want something to drink you have to bring it yourself or drive 10 miles down a windy road to the closest store.
I have recently brought my boyfriend up there for a picnic and before that time I would not bring him to my special place, because it was my place to think and be alone. He also said it was beautiful up there. We brought our son and let him crawl around the grass and play. You have to watch your children closely up here because teenagers drive thru very fast and there is a cliff that drops a million feet down. Well not really a million but it is a long drop down. All in all, this park is a beautiful place to come and think, come and have a picnic or just to drive too
