Pros:Inexpensive activity

Cons:DOGS (on leashes are) limited to very few trails.

Silver Falls is beautiful, don't get me wrong. It is well worth the time to see; however, my husband and I enjoy hiking with our dog, who happens to be just like a child to us. In fact, she behaves better than some peoples children. Visitors to the falls are allowed to hike the trails with huge intrusive strollers but well behaved dogs on leashes are not allowed to enjoy the majority of the Oregon State Park that we as tax payers support. At first glance, we were very excited about Silver Falls and started to make plans to return soon and camp. As our day progressed, we soon changed our minds. Every volunteer of the park made it a point to lecture us about where we were allowed to go with our dog, which I understand they were just doing their job, but unfortunately it made our day turn out to be a negative one. We will not return to Silver Falls, unless it becomes more pet friendly.
