Pros: Scenery, hot/cold running water, big lake, big camping area
Cons: Too many rules & regulations
Prince Gallitzin State Park is an excellent place to picnic, fish or hike and take in the scenery. The park offers boat rentals (row, canoe, paddle, and pontoon), cabin rentals by the lake, camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, etc... The 400+ site campground is OK for the money(over $10 per night--more for sites with electric). However, bring your sandals or flip-flops because you wouldn't dare go into any of the shower stalls without them (bleh!). The restrooms have hot/cold running water for the showers but you cannot regulate the temperature because they are the push button type. If you want to camp over the 4th of July you better make your reservations in January. Weekends get pretty busy also but you might get a site without a reservation. If your gonna arrive and leave between Monday and Thursday you most likely will not need a reservation because the campground is lucky to get even half full at that time(unlike its hey-day back in the 70's when it was No Vacancy 24/7).
