Very Relaxing: Promised Land State Park, Pennsylvania

Pros: little islands, cheap, good snacks, scenic drives
Cons: hm, can't really think of any, it's a park.. nature's nice.
The Bottom Line: I didn't think the name meant anything... but once you get there, you'll realize the atmosphere is much different from the world

Nestled inside this gorgeous park is a little island at the other side of a bridge. There weren't many people on it at all and the idea of being on an island is nice, even if it isn't faraway and unheard of. The whole park does seem to be in a different time frame though. Prices are low, but quality is good. Everything is relatively quiet, even though there are kids all around. Cabins look very nice on the outside and give off a cozy feeling. Driving from one attraction to the next lets you see everything from the road. It feels weird having a car. You'll want to get out and get onto a little horse or just walk. I don't think there are trails connecting everything though, but many people do walk along the road. Becareful.. not much room on the roads.
Right outside the park is a creek along side a little back road. Little waterfalls, water ripples, and the glow of the warm sun peaking through tree branches at various areas gives it a sweet little attitude. It just calls you to get out of our car and stand near it, looking into the water. Do try to find it if you go to the state park.
The trails and landscape is pretty flat overall, but the vegetation growing everywhere is amazing. At times it's almost like your in a forest.. things are spread out and trees and plants are everywhere. they even give you guides for the different areas to identify the different vegetation or make a game and try to find all the vegetation.
