Pros: Natural beauty, solitude and great hiking.
Cons: Nothing springs to mind.
The Bottom Line: If you hate crowds, love nature and are prepared to take a chance on winter, this is the place. I would rate it above the Grand canyon.

| rommike's Full Review: Bryce Canyon National Park |
Perhaps it was just the luck with weather, but Winter brought out the best in Bryce.
The landscape of Bryce canyon is like an artists impression of another world. Pink and orange spires seem to have been purposefully forced up through the ground, rather than have been created through natural erosion.
The result of winter snow, was like that of sprinkling icing sugar on top of a cake and with a backdrop of the bluest sky imaginable, the artwork was complete.
The day we stayed at Bryce canyon was just about perfect. Late December, temperature of 38, no wind chill, no clouds, and best of all, nearly no tourists.
A 2 1/2 hour hike through the Navajo and Queens Gardens trails is a must if time is short. This takes you down amongst the 'hoodoos' as the spires are known, presenting you with a differently spectacular view of the canyon from the ground level.
The drive through Bryce Canyon national park presents many great picture stops, and also offers starting points for additional hiking. Be sure to travel all the way to the highest point of the park. The roads are great, hard surfaced and easily navigated.
The only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer at Bryce canyon, and that coming from Australia, may never get back there again.
