My cat Tinkerbelle has a variety of different immune disorders. He is doing great because of the supplements, meds and the great food we are feeding him. About 18 months ago we started feeding him no dry food, and only high quality premium canned cat foods. Tiki Cat has a great variety of foods and Tiki Cat Napili Luau Wild Salmon and Chicken Canned Cat food is probably my favorite of all their varieties.

Description

Packaging: Tiki Cat Napili Luau Wild Salmon and Chicken Canned Cat Food comes in either 2.8oz cans or 6 oz cans. I usually buy the smaller cans by the case to save money. The cans all have pull tops that are easy and convenient to open. You can get this food in a case alone or in a variety package. I like buying the variety packs so that I can feed my cat variety without purchasing ten cases of food.

The Food: This cat food is fantastic. Tiki Cat Napili Luau Wild Salmon and Chicken is basically about half and half salmon and chicken. This food is not ground up mush. You will see shreds of both chicken and salmon that your cat will have to chew. There are no fillers or starches at all. The can is really packed with meat. It does come in chicken broth, but only enough to moisten the food. I add extra water for my cat because I think he needs a little more, but I love that I am not paying for water. The 2.8oz can of chicken and salmon has more meat that other cans of 3oz that have a lot of water and a little starch added.

Our Experience

My Thoughts: Tiki Cat Napili Luau Wild Salmon and Chicken is a super healthy food for Tinkerbelle. I love that this food is all protein and no starches. I know that grain free is a buzz word that most of us have picked up on. Many cat food companies have responded by offering us grain free choices. That is all well and good, but most of the companies replace the grains with starches like potato or tapioca. Most of the foods I feed have a little bit of starch but I am glad to see this choice that has no starch. If given a choice I would choose a food without any starch for my cat. If I want him to have veggies I would prefer to add a few peas or green beans rather than some sort of starch removed from the veggies.

Also it seems by not including the starch Tiki Cat has packed more meat in the can. Compared to other varieties of premium foods, there is way more meat in this 2.8oz can than most 3oz cans. I am going to try getting the 6 oz can and I want to see if it contains the same amount of meat as the other food I feed from a 10oz can. I am thinking this food goes further. I can always add the water myself.

Tinkerbelles Review: Tink gives this food 4 paws up! I have to admit that he loves all the foods that we have fed him in the last year and a half but I noticed when I fed this to him that he was going around the edge of the bowl to make sure he had not missed anything. He even cleaned under the dish to make sure he got every last morsel.

Final Thoughts and Rating

Tiki Cat Napili Luau Wild Salmon and Chicken gets 5 full stars from me. This food meets all our needs. It does need extra water but frankly, I would prefer to just add my own water than paying for water. This can is packed with goodness and I will definitely be buying more of this. Besides me liking it and thinking it is healthy for Tink, he also loves the stuff.
