I love Playmobil.  I have loved Playmobil ever since I was a little kid.  I would look fondly at the sets that included every last little detailed piece that you could think of.  I never got any Playmobil- I guess my parents didn’t want to deal with all those little pieces. 

I never recovered from my fascination with Playmobil, and if there is a sale or a special offer, I’ll pick up a set.  My favorite place to find Playmobil is the Children’s Orchard.  This is a children’s resale shop that sells high quality secondhand children’s goods.  Most of the Playmobil sets that I have found have been complete, and at a fraction of the price of a new set. 

I picked up the Pool With Water Slide at the same time as the School Gym.  One of the sets was $15, and the other was $20.  I can’t remember which set was $5 more, but given that both sets retail for about $40, I didn’t have a problem picking up the two sets. 

The Pool With Water Slide set is pretty self-explanatory.  You get a pool with a water slide.  This is a lovely pool.  It’s not very deep, but it has a pretty design on the bottom of the swimming surface.  It also has a rock wall complete with hanging vines and waterfall.  To the right of the main pool is a smaller pool; perhaps it is a kiddie pool.  To the left of the main pool is a “wooden” deck.  There is also a shower by the deck.  This is because you are supposed to shower before you get into the pool. 

The set comes with seven Playmobil people, affectionately known as Klickys.   There are six figures, presumably all from the same family.  There is a man, a woman, two boys, a girl and a little baby (also a girl).  Everyone is “dressed” in bathing attire.  This means Speedos for the lads.  This is a European toy, after all. 

Our set was used, but it was virtually complete.  There are some additional pieces, including foliage, a deck chair, and umbrella.  There are also some little things, like a radio, flip flops, a book, and more. 

My girls love playing with the Pool With Water Slide.  They put people in the shower, they have them climb to the top of the slide, and slide down.  The sliding is probably their favorite thing to do.  They can go for quite awhile, just having the whole family slide down the slide- even the baby! 

You can add water to the pool for a more realistic experience.  There is even a little pump next to the shower than you can press to spray the Klicky under the spout.  I have not added water to our pool, and I don’t think that we will be adding water.  I’m afraid that we’re not going to get every last bit of water out of the tubing and the components would mildew.  My girls love the pool the way it is, and they don’t even need real water in the pool to have fun with it. 

The Pool With Water Slide can be found online at places like Amazon, Toys R Us and the Playmobil website.  As of this writing, it can also be found at Toys R Us.  I would really suggest waiting for a sale; Toys R Us has frequent sales on Playmobil.  Sometimes the sale is 20% off Playmobil, and sometimes it is “buy 1 get 1 50% off”.  This set is durable, and comes with more Klickys than many of the other sets in the same price range, but a sale price is always better than full price! 

I would absolutely recommend the Playmobil Pool With Water Slide.  This set has provided my girls with hours of fun as they use their imaginations to take the whole family to the water park!
