Playmobil Secret Agent: A Must Have For Law Enforcement

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for another awesome figure for the Top Agents series, this is a must have.

The Top Agents theme from Playmobil is an excellent addition to their product lineup; the figures are incredible and there hasn't been a set yet that hasn't impressed me completely. So far this is the only solo mini figure that has surfaced but I am hoping that they will add more of them. You can get some interesting Top Agents figures in the sets but the prices on them start at about twelve dollars and run up to over one hundred dollars. The Lego Metropolis theme was a little nicer but it is nice to see that the Playmobil team is working on making special figures and accessories.

This Special Agent has a typical Playmobil figure but there are armor pieces that get attached to it to give it a sweeter look; the suction cups are a nice touch but I have yet to find a surface that they can actually stick to and support the weight of the figure. His head gear does not light up but it does look nice on him; the torso has the Top Agents logo stenciled on it and it has a three tone gray design to the torso and legs but the arm detail gets blocked by the arm armor. When you have him posed with other regular figures he looks a little larger but with the others from the series he looks perfect. He is standard scale so you can use the armor on other characters if you want.

This does require a little more building than some of the other Playmobil figures but not more than a minute; it's worth it to get a cool looking tactical figure. The uses for this character are endless and makes for a great gift for those in law enforcement. This is a toy but because of the added pieces to it, it is not something that I would give to a kid under the age of six. You also have to be concerned with the thick thread that the grappling hook is attached to. Kids can easily wrap this around a finger or toe and end up cutting off circulation. The backpack assembly is cool but it can make him a little unbalanced, you can add some poster putty to the bottom of his feet to keep him upright.

As a whole this is an amazing looking figure that is a nice break from the regular "cute" figures. I got this along with some other Playmobil figures for three dollars; that's less than what the Playmobil Online Store sells it for so I was pretty happy to get it at a little bt of a discount. This is a little hard to find in retail stores unless they specialize in Playmobil sets. You can get it at the website but you might want to check local toy stores first to save a couple dollars as well as shipping and handling if you don't qualify for free shipping. There are some nice modifications that you can make to this if you have some of the older police sets.

There aren't a lot of cons to this, the head gear does pop off every so often but it snaps back on easily. The suction cups can get lost easily because they are almost completely clear; I wish they had a little more sticking power to them. This makes a great addition to the City theme but because there are ways to modify it with other Playmobil pieces and parts you can have a lot of fun with it. He can be combined with other police figures as well as some of the City themed Duo sets of two figures.
