A couple of years ago, I reviewed Lemon Pledge here on Epinions.com.  At the time, that was pretty much the only product I ever really used on a regular basis to dust my wooden furniture.  Every once in awhile, I like to try new things; when I saw a 9.7 ounce can of Pledge Orange Clean on the shelf at our local supermarket, I decided to give it a try.  

Product claims 

This product is intended to dust, shine, and protect wood surfaces and more.  It does not leave a wax buildup and can be used on a variety of different surfaces to include marble, granite, stainless steel, and leather.  It's also supposed to remove up to 90 percent of allergens in dust.  Pledge Orange Clean is produced with more than 30 percent renewable energy and contains no petroleum-based propellants.

Directions for use  

Shake can, spray, and wipe.  For best results, spray onto clean cloth or hold can upright 6-8 inches from surfaces to be cleaned.  Safe for all finished, sealed surfaces.

My experiences 

I've used Pledge Orange Clean on a number of different surfaces in my home.  Most of the surfaces I use Pledge Orange Clean are wood, but I also have a few leather tables.  I have not had any issues with this product staining my furniture.  There is also no buildup, which is a good thing.

Pledge Orange Clean does a good job picking up dust and leaving surfaces clean, though I'm not sure I get quite the same shine as I do when I use Lemon Pledge.  This product also has a very strong, sweet aroma that doesn't really make me think of oranges.  Indeed, it's perfumey sweet to the point of being too strong.  I much prefer the scent of Lemon Pledge.  

Warnings

Do not use this product on floors, since it could leave them slippery.  Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Overall

While I think Pledge Orange Clean does a fine job of cleaning and picking up dust, I really don't like the way this product smells.  It also doesn't seem to leave my furniture quite as shiney as Lemon Pledge does.  I'll be going back to my old favorite once I've finished this can.  That being said, Pledge Orange Clean is a decent product.  I think it rates four stars.
