After owning a Shi??ty Truck, finally a good car

Pros: roomy, great styling, plenty of power (4 cyl), the 17" wheels are cool looking.
Cons: Tricky to get used to take offs, but that may just be me
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this car, it is a great car, and I am not sold on Fords very easily.

I now own a new
Fusion SEL with a
4 cyl & a
5 Speed automatic with the
17" SEL 5 (split) Spoke rims with
P225/VR50 Michelin Pilot MXM4 tires.

After spending 3 years with the 2003 Ranger me and my wife owned, a moped would have been better. But I really love this car so far we've had it a month now and it rides great and has more than enough power, unlike what others may say, I mean it's not a sports car after all, it wasn't meant to be. But the power is great, ahen you hit passing gear you can feel yourself slowly going back into the seat, and this is the 4 cyl. 160Hp for a standard stock 4 is not bad. It moves faster than the 3.0 Ranger did (obviously it being a truck), but this 4 beats that V6 in the Ranger, but not the V6 in the Fusion though. I can't say about the V6 option but the I-4 is really good.

The car handles like a sports car though, I drive hard sometimes and out of all the cars I owned this car stays with me on the road better regardless what turn I take.
Like I said my expirience so far with the car has been a really good one, it has more than enough room and I am a bigger guy, I love the big shifter head, I have not had a floor shifter since my Chevette 9 long years ago and I always rested my hand on it, and now I can again, granted it is an Auto though this time, I still have fun in the car, sometimes I just really drive to drive, and I never felt that way or safe enough in the Ranger to do so.

The Gas mileage is still fully undetermined as I only have 400 mi on the car, but what I am getting is really good so far, probably around 29 - 30 with the I-4 (and I know once it breaks in more it will get better), after getting 12 - 17 with the Ranger V6, oh yeah big difference, and with gas prices today it really helps.

I love the styling of the whole car, the new Ford grille, and the headlights and the way the car looks really wide. The headlights come on when you unlock the car with the remote and the whole car lights up with puddle lamps and taillights and interior lights. Also after having trucks for almost 5 years it really is nice to have a trunk, and a big one it is, easily you could fit 4 or 5 people in the trunk.
Not that one would do that.... of course. And the trunk through access is good too. I am taller and bigger and I can still sit behind the driver seat when it is adjusted for me to drive without my legs even touching the seatback. And the rear bench seems large to and the fold down armrest is a nice touch too.
