These systems are quiet and efficient. They are very simply to install and require little maintenance. Whilst it would be an exageration to say they are elegant and unobtrusive, they are not ugly and will not look out of place in a modern home. The only problem is the useless programmer that is supplied with the system. The hand help remote looks great at first glance, but there are a number of problems. First of all, it does not sense the air temperature. This is done by the unit itself so it is critical that the unit is place in an optimum position for distributing the conditioned air AND sensing the ambient temperature. These two requirements are very often mutually exclusive. Secondly, the only time capability provided is a simple one shot on/off with no daily repeat. Even the simplets AC controls these days have a daily repeat function. So with Mr. Slim you cannot tell the system to come on a 8:00AM and go off at 11:00PM in the living room for instance. You would have to remember to reprogram this every day! Thirdly, the dehumidify mode has no humidity sencsor so if you set the unit into this mode is simply makes the room colder and colder, dryer and dryer. Thus, you cannot leave the system in de-humidify mode as a maintenance position.
These shortcomings would be extremely simple for Mitsubish to address.
