A4tech SWOP-3 Optical mouse
If you are unable to fork out $25-, $35- for a brand name mouse, yet want to stay in style, this might be the mouse of your choice. How much is there to write about a very simple device like this one? Well this is an optical mouse (Pointing device) manufactured by a company called A-4Tech. I know, you probably never heard of them before. Rest assured, me neither! The reason why I purchased this mouse is simple. I needed a quick replacement for a Microsoft, optical mouse that went A-wire, (Broke) after about a year of usage.
This mouse came in a hard plastic, shrink-wrap sort of packaging. The only thing that was included in this package is the mouse itself, a user manual in English, French and Spanish, a Driver disk (Floppy) and an adapter from USB to PS/2. By the way I have the mouse plugged into a computers USB port. The package was rather hard to open at first, and even with a pair of scissors, I had a hard time opening the package. I also had to be careful not to cut the wire while doing all this.
First impressions
Well, I was very impressed with the look of this mouse when I first saw it in a computer store. I also noticed that employees are using them too. I ask one of them where can I find a mouse like this. They pointed out the location of the product and I purchased one immediately for only $15- Cdn. This mouse is red with see through inserts on the sides. The light inside glows blue and when you move the mouse on your desk or mouse pad, it intensifies a bit. The scrolling wheel is smooth and quiet. You can also click with the middle, scroll wheel. This normally opens an on screen scroll button. The size of the mouse is normal. Not too large, and not too, to small either.
Clicking with the mouse is not as precise as with some Microsoft optical and nowhere near as precise as Logitech mice. However for that kind of money you cannot go wrong. If you decide to install the included software, your cursor speed and movement acceleration might increase or decrease. Depending on your operating system and previous cursor speed settings. This can be adjusted in the mouse options, under control panel. (Windows OS)
Summary
I recommend this pointing device for Internet surfers, gamers, and database administrators and for anyone aiming for an attractive looking mouse for a low, low price. This model is available in blue and red. Just plug it in and start using it (P&P) = Plug and Play device. I thank you for the read and ratings.
