The Ace Surge Suppressor
The unit comes with a handy fifteen-foot cord, exactly the length I wanted. It has six large transformer sized outlets spaced an inch and a quarter apart. It has a lighted on/off reset switch with built in circuit breaker and a surge protection indicator light.
The suppressor itself weighs close to two pounds; including the power cord would at least double the weight of the unit. Its sturdy metal case measures about 9 by four inches and 1 ½" high. On the back of the protector are two cross-shaped openings so that the case can be hung either horizontally or vertically. No nails or screws for hanging are included.

Using the Ace Surge Suppressor
I bought this product for a single application on our screened porch. A recently purchased heater to be used on the screened porch over the winter has a long cord but not quite long enough to reach one of the two outlets on the back wall. The manufacturer of the heater discourages use of an extension cord but does say that if you must use one, the extension cord should be 14 AWG minimum size and rated not less than 1875 watts. I suppose I could have just bought a short extension cord with those parameters, but for a little more money I got the more useful surge suppressor that might fit future needs and applications.
So far the Ace unit works flawlessly and perfectly for our present needs. The power plug fit smoothly in several outlets tried and pulls out easily. I like that the plug has an extended neck to grasp so that one isn't tempted to just pull on the cord when unplugging the unit, something I don't plan on doing any time soon. The heater and other plugs tried fit in the surge protector outlets snugly but without unwarranted effort. I also had no difficulty unplugging any of the cords plugged into the unit during our testing, investigative phase.
I chose not to hang the surge suppressor because of the placement of the screened porch outlets and the location of the little heater. Instead the suppressor lies flat on a table with the heater plugged into it. The heater's directions also advise the user to unplug the heater when it's not in use. We find it much easier to just flip the surge suppressor's switch to off when the heater isn't being used rather than fool with plugging and unplugging the heater numerous times a day.
Finally - I'm happy with my purchase of the Ace Surge Suppressor S3A602B300 with large transformer sized outlets. As I've so often said, "Ace is the place."
