| endurance's Full Review: AMD Athlon XP 2500+, 1.83 GHz (AXDA2500BOX) Retail... |
I have been a long time fan of AMD. I started out with a K6-2 400mhz, upgraded to a 500, and stayed there for a while. With new work I was able to get my hands on a Anthlon 700mhz with a nice chunk of ram and Windows 2000. It is a awesome speedster!
I have heard many negative comments on AMD chips, some people say they are bug ridden, they are slower than P3 or P4 computers, however from my own personal experience I would have to disagree. I have had awesome results from my AMD processors over all, my new 700 offers me more speed, more processing power to run large applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker and other graphics tools all at once without lag.
If your in the market for a PC then look no further than a Anthlon. The AMD name is still new to some, and you may be considering a INTEL chip, but for the price, support, and growing list of software companies supporting AMD processors, it just keeps getting better and better. Don't get me wrong, INTEL makes some great chips, but I would rather spend less and get more than to have to pay for a name.
Thats my two bits! Compare for yourself!
