Not at all. They realize that the public is concerned and that's why they released an "Ozone-free" version. So they'll take the old versions back no matter what or when - even without a receipt.

About the prices (Reply to this comment)

Although the Ionic Breeze GP is expensive in stores, it can be purchased with a 5 year warranty for $200 in refurbished condition at the Sharper Image's official eBay outlet. A great deal it is. By the way, I got no impression that you were trying to sell these :)

What YOU wrote: I dislike product reviews written by people who sell the products. Especially when they claim NOT to work for the manufacturer. An independent salesperson is still selling a product, and this review proves that all too well.
Wow...I have no clue what your malfunction is, but before you go ASSUMING anything about me, ya might wanna ASK. I work on movies and do construction. When I love a product that does what it says...I get behind it. I have NEVER sold a thing for Sharper Image. I do NOT benefit from sales of this product nor do I own their stock. Why not read some of my other reviews for power tools... I must work for them too, huh? Here's what ya do: Get to an ATM and withdraw some cash. That way, you'll be able to afford the clue you obviously need.
