Chocolate, Vanilla, Caramel, and Honey: What More Could A Woman Want?

Written: Sep 04 '02 (Updated Sep 04 '02)
Pros:Amazing, unique, smooth, clean, and perfect scent.
Cons:The price tag.
The Bottom Line: Angel is one of the most perfect scents on the market today. It's not for usual fans of florals, but for more adventurous buyers it's an amazing find.

There’s something to be said for spending a little extra dough and getting the good stuff. In this case, Angel from Thierry Mugler is just that. Wonderful, invigorating, unique, and absolutely perfect, this is a must experience scent for women and men alike.

My Buying Experience

My purchase of Angel finally occurred for two reasons. First and foremost, my younger sister let me borrow hers about two years ago. I fell in love, but as a dirt poor college student couldn’t make myself spend nearly $70 on less than two ounces of eau de parfum spray. Then, a few months ago, I went on a bit of a shopping spree. It was on this spree that I stumbled on a wonderful store with discount scents. Of course, Angel still wasn’t cheap but an extra $5 off the steep price was just enough incentive for me to finally make the purchase.

What It Smells Like

Like I already mentioned, Angel is unique. It’s not a musk, not a floral, not actually any specifically distinguishable traditional scent. Instead, Angel’s draw is the fact that it is almost completely based on food scents. As any woman knows, chocolate and vanilla are amazingly desirable in every sense of the word. Well, considering the fact that Angel is most notable chocolate with hints of vanilla I’m not in the least bit surprised that even at it’s hefty price tag it’s been a success.

Since I am in no way a fan of florals (my other favorite scents tend toward musk, citrus, and even strawberry in the case of my other favorite Hanae Mori Butterfly), Angel was a perfect match. It contains no floral notes. Besides the already mentioned chocolate and vanilla, also featured are such scrumptious scents as caramel, honey, tonka, dewberry, helional, and patchouli. Above all other things, Angel is briskly woody. It’s also rather potent and should be used in moderation (as with all scents containing patchouli). So, even though the bottle is rather small it will last for a long time.

Extra Benefits

I even like the design bottle. It’s cast in the shape of a star from blue glass. As an added bonus, big fans of the scent will find that the bottles are actually refillable and for that matter recyclable. Also available in the Angel scent from Thierry Mugler are a body lotion and celestial shower gel among various sizes of the eau de parfum. Don’t expect to get any great bargains on Angel. It’s not sold at your local discount chain. You’ll find it at department stores and most online perfume sellers.

Conclusion

Like the sound of this? I highly suggest you get out and take a sniff of Angel. It’s not for fans of florals, but for other perfumaniacs it could be just what you’re looking for. My $65 was well spent.
