Good features, Good sound, Small footprint

The Bottom Line: Solid performance and good features on a reasonably priced phone. Panasonic quality is high.

Like many people, I have tried lots of cordless phones trying to find one that didn't have some annoying issue that made life worse instead of better. This little phone seems to finally meet my frequently abused expectations.
First, the sound quality is good. It is not as good as a corded phone, and 2.4 GHz phones have lots of interference issues that can't be overcome entirely. Still, it is better than the last 3 phones I've tried and any odd behavior is not bad enough to really irritate.
Second, the built-in LCD display works great with caller id and with saved numbers in your "phone book" ... and you can save very long numbers, like those used by calling cards. Operation of these features does require that you study the user's guide a bit, but all Panasonic phones are fairly similar so if you have a Panasonic with caller id already, there isn't much learning curve.
Third, the answering machine works well, though it is not as full-featured as some other machines. It is also very easy to operate.
Fourth, the phone has a really nice speakerphone feature that works through the handset (push the button and set the handset down and you operate on speaker anywhere the handset is).
Fifth, the phone comes with a belt clip AND a shoulder rest, something I have missed with most modern phones. For those of you too young to remember, a shoulder rest allows you to cradle the phone between your shoulder and your head without using your hands, and without killing your neck.
Sixth, volume control through the earpiece is easy to use and a feature missing on some other brands.
Last, this little gem is relatively small and saves valuable real estate in your kitchen or other crowded spaces.
