Better than Sony

Pros: Price, ability to play multiple formats, handles DVD-R pretty well.

Cons: Machine is not perfect. Encountered minor problems with bonus features sections on burned DVDs.

I've tried Sansui, JVC, and Sony, and this machine played more types of media, at better quality, than any of them. I also have an old Apex 1500 that plays everything--best machine I've ever encountered. I think because Sony is a content provider, they make their machines unresponsive to any media that may be copied, even their booklet says the machine won't play DVDs or CDs with stickers, etc. on them.
