I’ve wanted a television in my room for a while now. My parents offered me an old 13 inch, but I wanted something bigger and better. I shopped around and found an Apex television that had everything I needed, including a great price.
At first, I passed right y the Apex TVs because I had never heard of the brand. However, after talking to a sales associate, I learned that Apex is a fairly new brand and there have been no complaints about the televisions they had sold so far. After not finding anything else for a decent price, I decided to give this Apex 20 inch television a shot.
Why is the Apex such a great deal?
-For $119.99, you can’t go wrong for a 20 inch television! Every other 20 inch was well over $200.00. Every 19 inch was at least $140.00. The price for this television was just incredible.
-The digital color television has more to offer than just a great price. Features include:
o181 Channel Tuner
oSide and Rear AV Inputs (which is convenient for either video games, camcorder connections, DVD players or VCRs)
oRear AV Outputs (Also used for DVD players and VCRs)
oFull feature remote control (yes – it comes with a remote control that is easy to use with a bunch of different features!)
o3 different picture modes: normal, theater and memory (I don’t switch the picture mode too often as the normal picture comes in perfect as it is)
oChannel recall and Channel Scan
oParental Controls (in case you have HBO/Cinemax or any other paid station and you would like to keep the kids away from those channels…)
oTrilingual OSD – the television converts to Spanish, French and English.
My Apex television is a silver/gray color with speakers on the sides. The television, itself, is very appealing to the eye, very contemporary in shape and color and will go great in any room. The buttons on the television are easy to use and the picture and sound are very professional and clear. The screen is big enough to get a great picture, but not so big that the picture is distorted. The remote control is easy to use as well. And, surprisingly, this television is not extremely heavy. I’ve taken it up and down two flights of stairs twice now and have had no problem doing it (well, maybe it was a little heavy to take down two flights of stairs, but I didn’t drop it – haha – nor did I struggle). I also purchased a three-year warranty with the television, which was an extra $20.00. I usually don’t go for the warranty because I’ve never had any problems with anything, but I figured I’d get one just in case. $20.00 is not a bad price, plus, it covers both the television and the remote control, which is convenient.
I only have two problems with this television. One has to do with the volume. This television is really really loud. Even if you have it to the lowest possible volume (next to mute), the television is still loud. If I’m laying in my bed, I can’t fall asleep with the television on because the volume is too loud! If I have the TV on at night and everyone else is sleeping, my mother will complain to me in the morning that my TV was too loud. It may sound kind of ridiculous, but it is definitely true! Another problem that I have deals with the remote control. I have pretty long nails, so I don’t like pushing the button in on the TV to turn it on. Therefore, I always use the remote control. However, occasionally, my little brother will watch TV in my room or my mom will and instead of turning it off with the remote, they go right up and press the button to turn it off. For some strange reason, I can not turn the television back on with the remote control after someone has used the button to turn it off. It is very inconvenient for me when I get settled into bed and am ready to turn on the TV with the remote and I can’t because someone previously turned it off by pressing the button on the actual television.
Other than those minor squabbles, however, this television works great. I love how it looks in my room and I love the quality of the picture that it displays. This is truly a great television for a terrific price!
