Pros: Nice picture. Can connect to anything.
Cons: BAD batteries. Don't lose remote. DVD door may not stay shut.
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend it. All the parts didn't work coming out of the box, twice. It didn't even last a day and that was with less than normal wear.

| lawwin's Full Review: Apex Digital PD-450 5 in. Portable DVD Player |
I bought this DVD player because the local Wal-mart had it on clearance for $119.00 and I got the last one. Boy, was I disappointed when we took a trip the next day after I had charged the battery up overnight and the player cut off after only 35 minutes and we had to plug it in using the car adapter (good thing I thought to bring it.) When we tried to use it later with the battery again, it cut off after only 15 minutes. We never even got a whole movie out of the thing. That was very disheartening. What was even more distressing was later, that night when I went to use it and the door where you insert the DVDs would not shut and stay shut. So, after only 2 days of owning this DVD player I returned it to my local Wal-Mart and got back my $119.00 plus tax.
Then it just so happens that I was in a Wal-Mart in a neighboring city when I see that they too have these DVD players, but theirs are in sealed plastic bubble packages and are even cheaper than the other ones as these are clearance at only $100. Believing that the one that I had recently owned may have been returned or in some other way tampered with and that these players that are sealed in the plastic may fare better than my previous purchase, I plunk down my $100 plus tax and go home with my purchase. Imagine my surprise upon getting home to find that this battery that was sealed so nicely will not charge at all. So, after I have owned this DVD player from APEX less than one day I return it again to the local store and get back my $100 plus tax.
After my experience with this brand, I can honestly that if you have this much trouble with it whether the picture is good or not (it was good), it really is not worth the money and hassle. Stay away from APEX. If you see one on clearance, don't spend your hard earned money on it - it really is not worth it.
