spongebob_man1's Full Review: Apex Digital PD-650 6.5 in. Portable DVD Player
Smaller, lighter, and more portable than a laptop - the Apex portable DVD player is the perfect solution to movies on the go! Extended vacations, weekend trips, long car and airplane rides, heck...even a horseback ride through the woods - all great places to watch a movie on your Apex! Ok, so I wouldn't recommend watching it on a horse, but you get the point.
About The APEX:
The Apex Portable DVD Player comes with an extremely nice 6.5" Widescreen LCD. It is a highly portable DVD player. One thing that's really great is it's ultra-slim design that fits perfectly into any travel plans you may have. Enjoy the sharp, brilliant picture of progressive scan, and watch movies in a widescreen format! You can get over 2 hours of battery life per charge from the rechargeable battery that's included. Or you can connect the optical digital output to a home theater system for the incredible audio output of DTS or Dolby Digital surround sound. In the setting where I've used mine - Basic Training, we didn't have DTS or Dolby but an AC adapter ensures that you'll be able to watch hours of movies with no interruption.
The PD-650 is compatible with Kodak Picture CD and JPEG image discs and even plays back MP3s. The versatility is great. Switchable AV input/output lets you hook up a camcorder or your favorite gaming console, I prefer PS2. The system comes with an AC adapter and a remote control. With the PD-650 you will be assured smooth, vivid images.
The player also offers built-in stereo speakers for headphones-free listening. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the PD-650's digital-audio output like I said. Playback options include frame-by-frame slow motion, 2x and 4x zoom, and multiple-angle viewing! I like slow motion, it has many useful applications.

Last Words:
Of course, electronics experts could probably find a few "flaws" with the PD-650 but your average user (me included) will enjoy hours of portable entertainment without a hitch. Movies, music, and video games can help keep children entertained on long trips. "Are we there yet?" syndrome is virtually eliminated, with the Apex PD-650 it'll be more like, "Aaww, we're there already?"
Overall:
My first experience with this portable DVD player was during the last few weeks in Basic/AIT in the Army. A friend bought one so our squad could watch movies on the weekends. Luckily for me, this friend also flew back home on the same flight as me - so we watched movies all the way across country! If it hadn't been so cramped in the airplane it would have almost been like a mini-theater. My girlfriend sells a few of these a week at her work (Radio Shack) and hasn't received any customer complaints about it so far. I highly recommend the Apex PD-650, you'll love it!
