| electropigeon's Full Review: Apex Digital PD-650 6.5 in. Portable DVD Player |
This unit drew a lot of attention for being one of the lowest priced units on the market for portable DVD's. While the unit does the job, there are certainly limitations.
For one, the LCD screen tends to give a washed out picture when compared to some of the other units, and it is difficult to see in the sun. While some units are a higher price, they also have a sturdier feel to them. This unit has a rather flimsy feel to its door mechanisms and screen, and its battery pack tends to be cumbersome.
Some nice features include the ability to plug it into a TV to watch it on a full sized TV, and its double purpose as a Walkman (including MP3 technology) will make it a killer gift for teenagers.
It is a great unit for a one time road trip (unless you're headed to beaches, ski slopes or sunny climates) or for anyone under 18. But if you are a heavy duty business traveler you may want to invest in a higher end unit, or even go all out for a DVD player that can work on a laptop.
