The Bottom Line: Great tv for the money. Not top notch but you won't be dissapointed with it unless your looking for caviar on a beer budget. I'm more than happy with it.

| onionpants's Full Review: Apex Digital PF2025 20 inch TV |
Reading a few of the reviews on this site that didn't seem too promising about this tv. Well being a guy that during my college years used to work for an audio/video repair shop I decided to check out this tv since I have experience with older and newer generation throw away electronics. Bought this apex tv beginning of january 04. Brought it home set it up with a dvd player using the s-video input, this tv does come with component in but I didn't get the cable for it. Well let the tv go through its channel setup and you can watch it tune in each channel. (takes a while) Well when it was done I noticed that the lower channels weren't that great looking so I went and changed the cable splitter and reprogrammed it and it came in fine. Next was the picture quality. Something wasn't right. Well the tv comes with preset video settings, Movie, Sports, etc. Well theres a user preset. Well sat around and played with the setting ( contrast, color, sharpness, etc.) and bingo picture looks fantastic. Dvd playback on just the s-video input was crystal clear. I wish you could change the settings on the preset video modes but you can't . There all not bad just seems like the normal and movie video preset have too much red. Regardless this tv is a great value for the money. The sound is crystal clear and has a surround mode ( it enhances the highs and sounds good). The only real other gripe is the remote isn't layed out for ease of use. Most buttons are the same and not textured or layed out in a manner that you can't thumb your way around unless you memorize the remote. All that they should put on the top of the remote is channel up/down, volume, video input, last channel recall and the number pad. Still the remote has dvd, cable box , satalite box, and vcr controller modes on it so I guess it could replace all your remotes and become the main switch. It not a sony but its just as good as the other brands of flat panel tvs for half the dough. I do think the tuner filtering is too preciese. I've seen a few people complain about picture quality on the tuner but nice on the dvd. As long as you set it up properly you'll have one nice tv.
