I bought my 15GB iPod in June, as soon as I could order it in Canada. I waited anxiously for the package, and it arrived in 4 or 5 days. It came faster than I expected =)
The box that it came in was well thought out. If you've ever owned a piece of Apple hardware, you'll know what I'm talking about - they call it an "out-of-box experience". The iPod, its software, and all accessories come in a black cube box with a slip cover. They were even so kind as to include a little pouch to carry all of your accessories in!
When I finally opened everything and I observed my own, shiny white iPod, I was astonished by the size. It is so small! It fits in the palm of my hand perfectly. It's true, the white surface of the iPod is fairly scratchable, but you can rid it of scratches with some elbow grease ( note: do not use actual elbow grease :P ). I'm fairly protective of it, so I don't let too much happen to it and I've only scratched it once.
I have put 900 songs, all of my home videos, sound effects, programs, photos, etc. onto my iPod. I still have over 2/3 of my hard drive space free! I can transfer any file I want onto my iPod in mere seconds, thanks to the speedy 400MBPS (for those of you who are technically challenged, that's more than half a CD transfered per second) Firewire connection.
Many people say the iPod is expensive. Yes, it is expensive but it's not just an MP3 player, it is a PDA. It can store your contacts, phone numbers, notes, files, songs, and you can even play games on it! All of these features come in an incredibly small package for what I think is a wonderful price.
I would recommend the iPod to anyone who doesn't want to lug around all of their CDs around just to listen to your favorite tunes. It is one of the coolest things I have ever bought. I love my iPod.
