Obviously if you are taking time to read reviews you are a prudent consumer and deserve an objective opinion from an owner NOT some who tired or borrowed one. Simply put, I received this as a gift, and probably would not have purchased one myself because of the price when compared to compeers that appear to do the same thing, but if you take time to build a music library you to get the most out of it and this will do it for you.
Simply put, this is the best device for music I have ever owned. It is sleek in size, has a large capacity and it seems as if it were designed by people whom actually use these types of players. For example, it is ideal for the gym. You place the I-pod in its holder, witch attaches, and you dont need to deal with it again. No elevated buttons that can be pressed when using a nautilus machine and good skip protection. There is a small clip that will handle all of the thing you need to do when running or lifting, volume, song change, go back, hold, and pause.
We have used ours at the beach and tailgate parties. Once again ideally made for ease with external speakers or car adaptation.
If you have a primitive model of a digital music player you know that arguably most important is the ability to load, change, adjust, and configure your music library. It would be very frustrating to spend more time trying to program your device than actually listening to it. ONCE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS (notice the emphasis) it is easy to use and fast but folder construction takes some time if you want to separate my music genre.
Lastly, I have other devices that do the same thing and my brother would not spend the ducats and bought something for less money and simply got what he paid for. Yes, his does work, and he adapts but when I listen to his complaints they appear to have been addressed by Apple during development and that is why I do not experience them.
