Yeah but I got it because of stuff that happened over my birthday, so it wasn't really all that worth it in the long run.

Thanks for the info. It looks like a cottage industry has sprung up around it. When the battery finally dies, I'll have to decide what to do then. Opening things up always makes me nervous - I worry about it when the time comes.

You can remove the battery to swap it out, however it's not as easy as just sliding out a snap off battery cover. Just search google or another engine for ipod battery or something along that lines and you'll find plenty of informative sites on how to change the battery. From what I've heard tho, Apple has fixed the problem with batteries dying so quickly (as in being useless 12-15 months).
