This cruise was something that we had not done and it was recommended by a few of our friends. It was decided to take the Ms. Westerdam due to the age of the ship and the itinerary it had. We were 'Newbys' and did not have a clue what we were in for. Boy little did we know!!!! When we arrived in Ft. Lauderdale, we were greeted by the staff who directed us to the area for transportation to the ship and answered any questions we had. The check-in was smooth and uneventful. Upon entering the ship, we were greeted again and taken to our cabin by the steward. WOW the cabin was way beyond our wildest dreams, our luggage arrived shortly afterwards. I could go on & on but limits on space prevent that. The time of year was the 1st week in Dec and we went to the eastern Caribbean. While on ship there is never a dull moment, depending on your desires, there is something for everyone of all ages and backgrounds. The staff is there to serve you and make to make your stay in "their home" the most pleasant experience EVER!!! The ports of call were absolutely fantastic and plenty to do from site seeing, to shopping or just hanging out in a small pub or watching the locals. The favorite saying on ship from the "Vets" was once you figure out where everything is on ship it's time to go home- they were right. Next time (next year) we will spend more time on the decks getting sun instead of trying to do everything and probably eat less. This ship seemed to cater to the retired or at least the average age of the ships guests was 20 years older than we were but they do know how to have fun and were great to be with and helps us Newby's with anything we needed. Like I stated above I could go on and on and on about this cruise but if any of you have questions please let me know and I will tell you more. If you decide to go I would highly recommend this ship and the eastern Caribbean in late Nov or early Dec.
