So true!!! (Reply to this comment)
by vikinggirl
I have just come back from a Viking Seranade 4 night cruise. It was absolutely fab! I loved it. It was also my first cruise in my life...and if that was considered their least elegant ship, then I cant even imagine how great other ships with rccl must be!
I HIGHLY recommend this cruise in particular. When we were in San Diego, we just went to Sea Port Village and shopped, but there are many other things to do. At Catalina Island we rented a golf cart and went around the island for a few hours (big kodak moments there!). I highly recommend renting a golf cart..it was great. In Ensenada we also went on the La Bufadora tour, which was good. Watch out for the very abrupt sellers trying to get you to buy there merchandise!!
The service was impecable. Our waiters learned all of our names the first night..and the food (my god the food was heavenly). Every staff member is genuine and courteous. The show in the 500 seating hello dolly lounge are fun also. This cruise is so worth it..and as a teenager I recommend it for people my age as well as adults. You'll have a great time I'm sure!!!

True, Carolyn! We all did look ridiculous in those orange life preservers... I'm laughing all over again... I did control myself enough on the ship to avoid embarrassment though!

Reading about the safety drill reminded me of my first cruise experience. I became so amused at how we all appeared that I couldn't stop laughing even after I was reminded by the officer in charge that this was serious business. For some reason that just made it funnier, even though I was embarrassed by the upbraiding. Thanks for a fine read and reminder of what cruising is all about

Your review gives a good feel for the overall cruise experience...I was so taken with the wonderful dining room staff that I had to write an entirely separate epinion!
Keep up the superior work. Casey Stewart

A great review. (Reply to this comment)

Reading through brought back memories of a cruise my DH and I took some years ago to the Caribbean. Yes. definitely all that food! Anyone who goes hungry has only themselves to blame. I had to buy a new dress on the ship for a special event because the one I had brought along no longer fit. My suggestion to anyone going on a cruise--elastic waistbands!!!"
Thanks.

I took a cruise for the first time this year and had a great time. We're going to go again next year and I will definitely check out this other line!

And, of course, my favorite section of your review was about the food....
