Oh God! Please put your arm down, I can’t stand the sight!

Written: Aug 27 '04
Pros:Smells good. easy to spot the yellow bottle on a shelf
Cons:clumpy wads of deodorant left in hairy pits!
The Bottom Line: I think even my husband would pass on buying this again. It's to 'gross' to see once applied, even hours later.

Well, beauty is not my profession here at Epinions,(obviously, just look at my pic! *ack*) But from time to time I do stray a bit. This is one of those times where I feel like I absolutely must stray in order to save you from an embarrassing moment like my title describes.

First off, I personally do not use the Ultra Max Arm & Hammer Invisible Solid. My husband is the unfortunate body and soul who does.

Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant has come in a couple of scents. This particular scent smells rather nice on a man. It’s not to strong, like some that bowl you over when a man raises his arm to help you lift a box up to the top shelf. Another nice scent to use is the Shower Fresh fragrance. It too is quite pleasant.

So, Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant has eliminated the ‘powerful’ scent that can come along with deodorants.

It also eliminates the ‘powerful’ scent associated to a busy man, his sweat, and his body odor. Although my husband does not work up a sweat at his ‘office’ job, he still manages a bit of perspiration during rough house time with the boys. Still, Arm & Hammer has conquered that issue.

Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant will also measure up to a man’s size underarm rather than a woman’s due to the ‘wide stick’. In fact, why don’t they make a wide stick for women? That would mean less ‘swipes’ of deodorant, especially since men think women take so long to get ready. There’s a few seconds of our time right there, gentlemen. Where you get the luxury of a ‘wide stick’ we use dainty rolling balls or ‘normal sticks’. Well, anyway, Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant has a few centimeters added width compared to the other sizes of deodorant, so therefore, it conquers area coverage as well.

However, what Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant has NOT put an end too is the INVISIBLE part. Although my husband’s pits do not reek with stink, it is an awful sight to bare and bear.

Get it? Bare & Bear?

;o)

I’m so obtuse.

;oO

What you see when my husband exposes his armpit is anything but invisible! It’s clumps and wads of Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant. The first time I saw it, I was in awe. I couldn’t believe how much ‘white’ there was under his arm. It almost looked like he stood outside in a snowstorm until clumps of ice formed under there! *I could be more graphic with the description, but I think you get the gist.

The active ingredient in Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant is Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (19%) … Antiperspirant.

Its use is to reduce underarm perspiration
It is for external use only.
You are not to use on broken/irritated skin.

Directions state to apply a thin layer to underarms (only)

That’s the catch. If you apply only a thin layer, you don’t get the stench prevention. If you apply more than a thin layer, you get the frosty effect.

I can not tell you how much my husband paid for this, but in all honesty, I can not see it being economical. If you have to apply a thin layer, you are not getting what you paid for. However, if you attempt to coat your pit for protection, you are leaving a LOT of residue behind (okay, way to much white to be called a ‘residue’), therefore you are using the antiperspirant in excess. It’s a catch 22.

The fact is, I need to stick to buying my husband’s stick. Yes, this means monitoring the level of antiperspirant he has left in his stick, but this also means I won’t have to remind him to keep his arms down in public in order to not shock the public……

If you can get by with a small dose of Arm & Hammer Ultramax Wide Stick Invisible Solid Deodorant, then you may find it beneficial to buy. If you work up a sweat just by thinking of exercising, then avoid it. Women do not like to see snow balls in men’s hair covered arm pits…. *shiver*
