| BucthFL's Full Review: Avanti W1092F Front Load Washer |
I live in a condo which as many other condo/apartment owners know trying to find a washer or dryer to fit in the closet can be tough at times. Not all stores stock the smaller washers or dryers for condo/apartment owners. I looked online & in what local stores I could find the smaller washer & dryers & came across the Avanti brand. I wasn't to sure of the brand name, but when I went to their website & found out it was made by Samsung I felt as if it was a good name brand knowing that it was made by a reputable company. I also checked out other compact washers & dryers from Danby or Haier. Avanti was the only compact washer at the time that I came across with the energy star rating which I was also looking for.
I purchased by Avanti washer from Brandsmart USA here in Florida. It weights around 180 pounds, so you do need at least 2 people to move it if your living on a 2nd floor & don't have elevator access. It is easy to unload since it is just covered with a box. When you get ready to install it make sure you take out the shipping bolts in the back that hold the drum in place when they are shipping it otherwise when you first use it you'll notice excessive shaking during the spin cycle. The wash cycles are controlled through the manual control panel which is preset by the manufacturer. But, you can over ride the controls & set it up for what ever temperature you want & what ever kind of clothes your washing. I also like the pull out detergent dispenser. You place your detergent, bleach, & fabric softner in it then just leave it be as it washes your clothes for you without you having to get up until the wash cycle ends. It has a safety feature of locking the front loading door once you start the washing cycle, so that you do not open the front washer door by mistake when it is washing. Once it is done with the wash cycle it will automatically shut off & a minute later unlock the front washer door for you to remove your clothes. The spin cycle is excellent with it averaging 1000 rpms according to the manual. It comes with a 1 year parts & labor warranty as well. The electronic front panel even informs you when you need to clean the filters on the hoses coming into your washing machine as well as when to clean out the lint filter which is located at the bottom front of the washer behind a pull away panel. This I find to be a very nice feature, so you don't always have to check it until the electronic panels instructs you to do so.
I have owned my unit now for 2 months & love it. Works so quiet that you wonder if it is even on sometimes. Only time you notice it being on is during the spin cycle which last around 2 minutes. Average wash cycle takes around 60 minutes. Before purchasing this Avanti washer I did look into Danby & Haier, but the Haier had a very small front opening for loading your laundry which was a big turn off. And Danby I could not find any where in a local store to look at it in person. Only could find it online.
After owning my unit now for 2 months I am very happy with it & would recommend it to others needing a small washer to fit into a closet if your living in a condo or apartment.
