Today, I will be drinking three shots of Bacardi Limon. This flavored rum can be purchased at almost all places selling liquor across the United States. A pint costs about seven dollars, while a fifth will run you about twelve smackers. The net cost of the Rittdogg's taste test = $0.
An underage drinker was silly enough to leave a half-drank pint in my car after he and I went on a little road trip to the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. The Rittdogg is more than happy to finish off the booze for that silly bastard. The little tyke should not be drinking anyhow.
I am not a big fan of mixed drinks. I like to drink alcohol straight up. That, and I am too lazy to mix drinks. I am usually drinking for the effect, not the taste anyway. I like a drink that I can drink a lot of and not heave. Hopefully this will do the trick.
Shot #1 - Las Vegas royal flush shot glass
The back of the pint says to "try chilled or with juice". I ain't gots no juice, so I have "chilled" the pint in my (please defrost me soon) freezer. The liquid courage awaits its arrival into my feeble frame.
Bottoms up!
Tastes pretty good and pretty strong. My body got the shivers for a second. The hint of lemon in the taste almost washes out the fact that the alcohol is fairly strong. Bacardi Limon is 35% by volume (70 proof).
I will take a short break before shot #2. I fear that quickly doing shots of this stuff may lead me to blow chunks on my keyboard. Grilled cheese would probably hurt coming back up.
Shot #2 - Bellagio shot glass
I'll pass on the small talk for this one...
Bottoms up...
Uh oh... I actually liked the taste of this shot more than the first. The hint of lemon has grown into an actual taste. I could barely taste the alcohol. Unfortunately, my stomach is grumbling something nasty to me. This could be a silent but deadly drink. The Porcelin God awaits my stomach's decision.
Shot #3 - Toronto's Hard Rock Cafe shot glass
I refuse to use "chasers" when drinking alcohol. If I wanted to drink lemonade, Pepsi, milk, etc. I would be drinking them, not the alcohol.
Drinkee time...
Pretty f***ing good. The mild burn in my mouth after the shot astounds me. The lemon taste is quite appealing at this point. I feel a cool buzz enveloping my body. This is a good thing. One problem: My stomach is feeling sketchy at best.
For you, the reader, I will go out of my way and do one final shot. It will be a hefty shot. I will not leave you hanging... will a big fourth shot make the Rittdogg vomit? Read below to find out!
I really have fun writing these alcohol reviews. I get a good buzz while writing and end up moderately drunk by the end of the night. If you would like me to review any other type of alcohol which epinions has a category for, feel free to leave the name of the alcohol in comments...
Please God, no puke
Well, more shakes and shivers, but I lasted through it. The taste was the same as the third shot. I think that I can recommend this product to those looking for a good drink.
Overall
Bacardi Limon is a nice, strong, and tasty spirit. Drinking it straight up will not make a little bee itch (thanks neilioo) like the Rittdogg puke. Likely, you will happily survive drinking it as well. You might end up a little loopy like me, but what else should you expect from drinking el liquid courage.
