lambchops's Full Review: Bcbgirls Sexy by Bcbg 1.7oz Eau De Toilette Spray
As a musk-loving girl eternally searching for the most perfect scent, I was pleased to discover BCBGirls Sexy from Max Azaria a few years ago. After catching a whiff in a fashion magazine, I rushed out to the store and bought a bottle. Much to my pleasure, it was just as I’d hoped…a fresh, musky, unique fragrance just as fitting for daytime as evening.
Sexy debuted in department stores just a few years ago with sister fragrances Metro, Star, and Nature. Each of the scents was unique, but the rich and provocative Sexy caught my attention. Readily found at any department store, beauty shop, or at any one of the numerous online retailers the lovely perfume is probably also a bit much for some sniffers.
To my nose, the at times overwhelming scent is a rich sort of musk. But the musky smell is actually a combination of various elements ranging from mandarin to clove and from jasmine to rose. In addition, something about the simply-yet-elegantly bottled fragrance seems peppery. Nothing about Sexy is shy, nothing is understated, and it is only vaguely feminine. Since I’m in no way a girly-girl, this is probably what most appealed to my nose from that incredible first moment on.
Sexy goes on rather strong, but within minutes it lightens to become a perfectly inviting scent most alluring surely to the opposite sex. Upon spraying it on, my senses are heightened and I’m momentarily transported to some blissful Asian paradise. It lasts for a good amount of time, and with the help of the other available products like lotion you can smell Sexy all day long and into the evening.
This Max Azaria scent is even relatively affordable. The most common 1.7 oz. size sells for between about $25 and $40 at all retailers (the lower number online and at discount stores and the higher at over-priced stores like Sephora). The accompanying, equally scrumptious, body lotion and shower gel sell for slightly less at about $20 - $30 for the 6.7 oz sizes. As far as department store scents go, BCBGirls Sexy is a bargain.
