ep01's Full Review: Belkin (F5D7230-4) Wireless Kit
The router doesn't offer a lot of advanced settings and features, but it is very stable and very easy to set up and use. I really like the case design of these Belkin routers. Unfortunately, the version that I got doesn't have a vertical mount like some of the other Belkins, but it is a little smaller, so it doesn't take up quite as much space as you lay it flat.
Don't expect a lot of advanced set up options. You can't change much on the wireless side, and the wireless cannot be turned off. There is also no dynip update feature. The basics are there though, it has WEP and WPA wireless security, DHCP server, and comprehensive ISP support. One important feature that it does have is WDS support. It can connect wirelessly to other routers/access points, so you can extend you wireless range without running wires, bridge your network to the neighbor's house, etc. Belkin says that this feature will only work with other Belkin routers, but I got it to connect to a Linksys router without problems.
The wireless range is pretty much standard, similar to the other routers I've used. The stability is excellent, it doesn't lock up like some DLink and Linksys routers that I've used. Parental control is offered as a subscription based service, but I haven't tried it.
