I have wanted to try Febreze ScentStories since it first came out, but because of the price I had decided to wait. Target had the Febreze Scentstories on sale for $24.99 and I thought to myself : “Why not splurge a little today?” while I was shopping for every day stuff. I first checked out the package to see what was all included for the $24.99 and what the replacement discs cost as well. The Febreze Scentstories came with the player and one disc that had 5 scents. Before I go into further detail on how I feel about this product, I’d like to give some basic information.
Febreze ScentStories is so easy to use. It measures about 9" x 6" x 5". With the disc you receive in your start up kit you are ready to go with a refreshing air freshner and the scent changes every 30 minutes. It comes with 3 settings of high, medium, and low intensity. I normally set mine on low intensity and it freshens up my computer room in a snap and I’m a smoker! The intensity marks are not numbered but there is a graph to show you which is high, medium or low. This wonderful little machine comes with a play button (which is also to use to change to the next scent if you desire), a stop button and then the intensity buttons. It also comes with the ac adaptor which plugs into any household 120v outlet.
There is also a red WAIT light on the player to let you know that the player is beginning to start.
Directions: All you do is push the open button on the front of the player, pull off the foil over the scent cd and insert into the machine as you would a regular cd player. Plug the Febreze ScentStories into any household outlet and push Play. It is also recommended to put the player on a table or flat surface at least 2-4 feet above the floor.
If you want to check to see what scent you are on, all you have to do is check the scent track view window on top of the player. The only way to remove the disc is to make sure the fan and the "wait" light is off before the player will eject the disc.
I saw about 5 other scentstories discs available but not sure of exactly how many there are in total from Febreze. They cost around $6.00 each and they contain 5 different scents and each disc last up to 50 hours total.
The disc will play up to 2.5 hours unless of course you stop it before. I run mine about 30 minutes every so often to keep my computer room fresh. I can’t get over how well the Febreze ScentStories works! As I said earlier, I’m a smoker and a pet owner, so of course my house has odors and I’m constantly burning candles, but when I plug this baby in, I don’t have to worry about children or pets around fire hazards and still have a fresh smelling home. It was so worth the $24.99 and know that this would make someone a wonderful Christmas gift!
Caution: Surface is hot during player operation. Avoid contact with heating element to minimize the potential for burns. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use in damp or wet area. Do NOT attempt to refill or replace pockets within a disc. Only use Scentstories discs in the Scentstories player.
