| HeidiHC's Full Review: Bissell 1698-1 PowerSteamer ProHeat Plus Upright V... |
After having lived in our new house for less than a year, my toddler had managed to make the carpet in the family room look like it was 10 years old. We knew it was time to invest in a carpet cleaner and since we own the hand held Bissell, we decided to give this model a try.
I was surprised at how easy it was for me to put this machine together, it took less than 10 minutes. After reading the instructions, it was a snap to operate, it works just like my upright vacuum cleaner, and it is a lot less noisy than the rental carpet cleaners. You add hot tap water, and the machine heats it more while you clean. The bucket is easily removed for filling and emptying of water, and the container for the cleaning solution is also easily accessible. On average I have been able to clean a 18'x15' room without having to change water or adding solution.
This carpet cleaner also contains tools for upholstery cleaning which I have not utilized yet but plan to in the near future.
The price for this machine was also great, we found it for less than $200 at one of our hardware stores, and to top it off, it included a bottle of stain pre-treater, and two bottles of carpet cleaning solution. So all in all this was a good investment, especially since my carpet looks like new again.
