Mine black Bose was a Christmas present in 2006 and I love it. I had wanted one for some time and wasn't going to treat myself, so my sweetie drove to the Bose outlet which he thought was the place to purchase it. It could have more easily been purchased online without the added sales tax. There are otherwise
no price breaks that I have found anywhere, the price seems set.
As I look at my other stereo systems, JVC, that no longer work , I wish I had gotten Bose years ago. Though I never have it at the volume advertised, it soothes me to sleep at night. I realize this low volume does not do it justice so yes it is an expensive clock radio but one I feel is well worth the money. I don't need the extra CD accessory so that saves money for now but in time I may get it.
Mine didn't come with the backlit remote which would have been nice to have so I have to feel in the dark, a big disadvantage.
For the money it would be good PR if Bose exchanged these primitive remotes for the one with the light. I hate when there are "better" offers just after you made a big purchase. There is no doubt that this is an expensive purchase but the name , Bose, has stood the test of time which counts for alot.
I am very happy with the black which fits into any decor. To be honest it is probably overpriced but that is what it is IF you want a Bose stereo.
