Using the car seat is very easy with the base. Installing the base is very easy as well. The carseat also fits very easily into the matching stroller. My husband and I feel this carseat is easier to use than the last one we bought. It sets right into the base, you don't have to work at it. We had never put the car seat in using the seatbelt because we know how tricky that can be. We like using products that are hassle free and the base with this car seat makes this a hassle free product. Once the base is in the car, it doesn't move at all. This is part of the Latch system.

The latch attachment bars are made of steel and are very sturdy. The base can be installed in almost all vehicles in seconds. While the base is heavy, it allows for a very good fit with no movement of the carseat once it is in the car

The sun visor is more sturdy than other brands of car seats, providing adequate shade for our son. The triangle-shaped handle makes carrying the carseat a breeze because you can carry it at any angle.

The five-point harness works very well and is reported to be much safer for babies than the three-point harness. It is very easy to adjust the fit of the harness with the harness adjuster without having to remove the carseat from the car.

This car seat has a weight limit of 20 lbs. which is fine. Our last car seat had a weight limit of 35 lbs. which made for a much heavier car seat. With a baby and a toddler, I needed a much lighter seat and Sam was out of our last seat before he reached 20 lbs. For the most part, the 20 lb. limit is fine.

The customer service at Baby Trend leaves a lot to be desired. While the carseat is very good, I am having trouble getting a second base for my husband's car. I ordered one from the company on June 25, 2003 and still have not received it. (July 19, 2003) They are supposed to now be in stores.

I would recommend the carseat, however the customer service issue is a real problem with me. I feel if you spend money with a company and we did, buying the carseat and stroller, that you should be taken care of by the company that makes the product you purchased.
