Scared of Fax machines?
Do fax machines frighten you? Do you think you might as well just stick your document in an envelope, slap a stamp on it, and send it in the mail? Do you get sick of busy signals and waiting? Never fear! The Brother is here!
This is the first fax machine that I've ever used that I'm not worried about touching. It has preset fax buttons, that I never touch. All I have to do is put in my document (face down.) and type in the number, and press send. Then I walk away. It redials for you, and if you don't connect after the preset amount of time, it prints out a message. It will always print out a message telling you what has happened. "Transfer Okay" or "Busy" or "not good".
It's so convenient and user-friendly that my mother even uses it when I'm at work. Oh yes. My mother. About 50 years old, and very in the dark ages. She can't even work a VCR. She can't even figure out email. I once tried to teach her how, over the phone. "Turn the computer on, okay, now you're at the desktop? take the mouse and --" (she cut me off to ask where the mouse was and if she had to look for it on the screen.)
Other features you may or may not care for.
Okay, so now you can fax. (Place document, type in telephone number, press send.) You can also do other things, like toggle settings depending on what you're faxing. If you want to fax a photo, and need the receiving fax to print out a good quality, you can set that as well. You can set the fax to either answer automatically, or just on a smart-ring service, or not at all. (that's what we do. If we need to receive a fax, just give the sender your regular phone number, and answer the phone normally when the phone rings. It prints out the fax, just like that.)
One last perk!
Also, it comes with a quick photocopier. It's really neat. All you do is stick in your document and press copy! (It prints in black and white, and if you need to copy something more important, you can use those toggles for print settings, such as photos.)
