Pros:good for beginners and amatures, light weight, easy to set up, fun to play with!
Cons:You have to be fast to use the computerized setting for using the search.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely advise people to buy this telescope if they are beginners in the field of astronomy.
I got this telescope for Christmas about 5 years ago. It was a great scope! I especially liked it's computerized setting. It made for a nice exploration of the sky although it was low powered. I was able to see Saturn for the first time with this telescope and saw the moon Titan beside it. The rings were brilliant! I couldnt have seen this without the computerized setting. I had to learn where at least two stars were in the sky and then I had to center them in the field of view. You had to do this quickly otherwise your next object that you searched for would be off. I also saw Jupiter and four of its moons. Overall though, this was a nice scope for beginners and definitely satisfied me! This telescope deals with the cold or the warm! I've personally bought other larger more expensive lenses to add to the telescope and they worked well. Some other scopes have been weighed down but this one was one of the few small scopes that didnt. This makes for an excellent scope that you can take camping with you. It weighs no more than 20 pounds with everything included. I know of some beginners who tried to use there's and they couldnt figure out how I could see all the things I do. So what did I do? I removed the cap off of the telescope that they forgot to remove. Make sure you remove the cap!
