popsrocks's Full Review: Bushnell PowerView 13-9755 Binocular
I can't believe how good these lightweight, relatively small in size binoculars are. The Bushnell PowerView, extra high power, 7x-15x zoom brings me right up to the subject I am looking at!
Just yesterday I was sitting on the couch in the backroom of my home and was looking at a power pole some 100 yards away. I saw a small dot on it. After spotting them through the binoculars at regular 7x power, I zoomed in with the 15x lens and could see the detail of an underpart bright yellow tail, an orange coloured cap and more yellow on its head. I believe I was spying a Palm Warbler through my den window! Very cool!
I have had a number of binoculars in my lifetime. In fact, I own over five pair right now. I was however looking for a pair of binoculars to be able to carry around my neck 24/7 when out in nature. Most of the binoculars I owned were big, bulky and heavy. Not these that are both compact binoculars and powerful!
Bushnell PowerView 139755 7-15x ZOOM
I first saw these in a Target store nearby my home. I needed to see exactly how they worked so a gently ripped the plastic packaging open using brute force. I then looked through them to stores end and I was pleased with what I saw. That though, wasn't enough. I needed to try them outside so I walked to the front of the store and out the door and used them to check out some far distant subjects. I was quite pleased with how they worked. More in a bit.
The packaging notes tat these are "Extra High Power". 7x power is a quite popular. Having the 15x Zoom is special and most binoculars do NOT have such a feature.
USES For The Bushnell Zoom 7x-15x Binoculars
-Bird watching binoculars -Whaling spotting -Observing Bears, Wolves, Moose, Caribou in the wilderness of Alaska -"undercover work" ; ) -Looking at addresses on buildings if delivering. These are lightweight and small. Perfect for that job. I did do deliveries for a while and I KNOW how important such sight enhancers could be. I also used binoculars to check street names in the distance if waiting for a light. Due to the variety and availability of GPS systems in cars, they aren't needed as much but still are useful. -Examining areas of yor home too high to have easy access to -excellent on a small boat or when kayaking -These are also excellent for studying flowers and such that are a relatively close distance -Sports Binoculars -astronomical binoculars (The moon looks pretty cool through these!) Hunting Binoculars Theater too, they aren't big and heavy but sure bring the stage up close!
Truth be told I have not compared these against Canon Binoculars Nikon Binoculars Pentax Binoculars or swarovski binoculars but these compact yet quality binoculars are super by my standards. Yes, you can purchase much better high quality and well machined binoculars are extremely high prices but these are an excellent value.

These weigh but 11 ounces! WOW! These are about five inches long by about four inches wide. Quite compact, especially for the power they offer. These have a rubber coating that helps them stand up against hard use in the field.
These came with a vinyl carrying case with a belt loop, (nothing special), a good strap that has the name Bushnell printed into the fabric, and a lens cloth. Two removable caps help protect the lens when not in use. The ends have fold down soft rubber eyecups.
Coated optics to help increase brightness. Pops Take
I love these binoculars. They are lightweight, small, and strong with fine optics and all less than fifty bucks. Target was selling them at $52. I found them on-line and saved almost ten dollars with the tax and delivery included.
Tye strap went on easily and hold firmly. These are a handsome and cool looking binoculars. I like the mat finish with the rubber coat.
These focus quickly and easily via a center mounter mechanism. (I'll note that I have had and used other binoculars that give a double image unless absolutely perfectly set. These Bushnell powerview binoculars focus quickly and easily with one very well defined circle.) Once found to be in focus, further adjustments can be done via the left eyelens. These work well for me and in sharing the binoculars with my wife who wears glasses, she could easily refocus for her own eyes in a matter of a couple of seconds. She takes off her glasses for best viewing.
I like...no love the zoom factor. Very cool. I do find I have to be VERY steady of hand to watch such a highly magnified subject that is a good distance away. I try and find something to lean on or lower my elbows to my sides for stability. There is NO screw in feature for a tripod. That was an error in design, I believe. pair I used in Target were smooth moving. These are a bit stiff. but do work VERY well in bringing in the subject even more. Stiffness seems to differ pair to pair. Shop well.
I can highly recommend these Bushnell 7-15x binoculars for all kinds of use. They are a remarkable blend of lightweight materials in a compact package that has excellent brightness and view.
