| fred0's Full Review: Sony CDP-CX230 |
I actualy own the Sony CDP-cx235 (which is not listed in Epinions), but both units appear to share features. I purchased this unit approximately 6 months ago.
Pros:
Having musical tastes spanning from Classical to Heavy Metal to New Age, I was quite pleased to find the CDP-CX235 which allows me to assign my CD's into groups, then play either a group (continuous or random), or play through my entire CD collection.
The controls are fairly intuitive (considering how many options you have), and allow powerful features such as naming your CD's, and later being able to skip to a CD by name.
The music quality is excellent (I purchased cables with higher conductivity as factory default was mid-grade) playing through my Pro-Logic Surround Sound system, and I am quite happy to say I have not experienced any problem with CD's skipping and what not.
Cons:
This has more to do with the technology of a CD changer of this volume than the unit itself; but there is a pause of about 3-5 seconds between CD's as it changes to the new CD. (As it pulls the CD out of the player, moves to the next CD, then inserts it)
It didn't fit in my multimedia case! (Had to cut out the back so the front wasn't hanging out ;-)
All in all, I really have no complaints. If you're looking for a CD-Changer of more than 100 CD's, I give this one high marks.
