| lorenmgreen's Full Review: Sony CDP-CX230 |
I finally got sick of going into the electronics shop with my old CD player and I bought a new one. In the store, I loved the concept of a player that holds 200 discs, though I was a little worried about disc jams (the big problem with my old, 10 disc changer).
So far, over six weeks, I haven't had any problems with my Sony CDP-CX230. The only annoyance has been my attempts at random, which doesn't work so well if you don't have the player filled to capacity. That's an understandable problem though. This CD player smoothly switch between CDs, contains text features to help you identify the discs in the machine, and has a well equipped remote control. The storage inside of the unit is set up in a circular fashion, CDs upright, label to the right. Inside, the cd to be played, is moved in the back of the machine. One minor problem is that the player does not allow you to open it up and change any of the discs inside while one is playing. Again, I see this as an acceptable price to pay.
The Sony CDP-CX230 is a huge unit, taking up much more room than most receivers, DVD players, etc. This should be taken into consideration when purchasing, if you have limited space. I do not know how well it fits in standard entertainment centers, but this should definitely be considered.
So far, I haven't had any problems or real complaints with my Sony CDP-CX230 200 disc unit. It has worked wonderfully, and I really enjoy not having to get up and change discs all that often.
