Pros: Controls nicely located Many features the camcorder looks great XGA stills
Cons: poor indoor video quality blurry stills only 10x optical zoom
The Bottom Line: For the money this camcorder is not worth the purchase i exchanged it and now looking at Canon or Sony camcorders.

| neilsahgal's Full Review: JVC GR-DVL9800 Mini DV Camcorder |
After keeping my 9800U for 10 days I sent it back for a refund. The camcorder is over priced for its less than average performance. This camcorder was terrible in low light conditions, shooting indoor footage with normal home lighting is out of the question. The slow shutter speed limited the usefulness of the progressive scan feature and photo mode. I tried PS out on my golf swing and could not see the club during the swing when played it back in slow motion, not to mention blurry of the video. Taking non blurred stills without a tripod were very difficult, leaving me wondering why make the 9800U's still mode capable of XGA resolution when the camera can't produce a decent VGA still without the aid of a tripod.
