| zipkruse's Full Review: Sony Handycam DCR-PC5 Mini DV Camcorder |
Buyer beware... as with any technology and obsolescence, this model has already been superseded by the Sony DCR-PC9.
We found out reading another web page, after we'd already ordered the PC5. Fortunately, they hadn't shipped yet, and the PC9 was available.
While your online dealer won't tell you this model is out of date, definately order the upgrade. Why? 1. It's cheaper!! (Crazy, but true!) 2. The batteries (info-lithium) apparently last 30% longer. 3. It weighs about 5 ounces less!, and 4. It ships with a USB cable instead of a serial cable (trust me, this should be better for your future.)
The PC9 is a wonderful camera, and after a month of research, where the Canon Elura MC2 maintained a great, competitive favor, we decided on the Sony DCR-PC9.
Good luck!
