Pros: Sized right, priced right. Track record as a reliable machine. Low cost to operate.
Cons: A copier is a copier. That's all this does. Does well, not compared to digital.

| mattgordon's Full Review: Canon NP 7130 Black and White Copier |
While still being newly manufactured, the NP-7130 is a commercially oriented unit of high quality, BUT with this caveat: it is of ANALOG technology. By that, it is to copiers, what video tapes are to home entertainment: available, but certainly replaced by DVD technology.
That's not to say you shouldn't seriously consider this unit, but why would you? The replacement unit in it's segment is the iR1310...a digital model reviewed separately. The operational costs between THIS analog unit, and it's digital counterpart the 1R1310, will be nearly identical. The "way" the analog unit works...having to take a new picture, for each and every copy required, coupled with it's inability to print, inability to scan-once and print many, and intrinsically lower quality of reproduction on CERTAIN types of originals will be the primary differences. The price should be lower than that of the iR1310 model, but usually isn't.
