Before I bought this sub, I made the mistake of buying the Bazooka EL-10A, which is one model lower than the RS-10A. The two look similar, but the RS-1A is capable of much more. To start out the RS runs with 80 watts, a 30 watt improvement over the EL. The RS also has the capability of hooking up an umamplified Bazooka to it, allowing for more bass. In fact, when a second Bazooka is hooked up the amp pumps out 120 watts and operates at 2 ohms instead of 4 ohms.
Not only is the amp improved over the EL but the sub itself is improved. Though the bass is still not as deep or as clear as an Dynaudio sub(thats for you Chris :) ) it still does its job, keeping in mind that it is only a 10" sub, not a 12". This sub comes with a switch which you can install in the front so that you can switch the sub off and on while driving( just in case you get pulled over by a cop. ) The sub is fairly easy to install, though the wiring is a bit different than the EL, so you cannot simply just plug and play. I was able to pick this sub up for $160, brand new, off of ubid.com. I paid $180 for my El, and this one was even cheaper! I recommend that anybody with the EL-10A to spend the money to upgrade to this sub, you will definetly feel the difference. I also recommend this to anyone else who does not want to spend the money or the trunk space to buy a seperate amp and sub. If you can pick this up for about $200, compare that to a sub for $100, a box for $50, and a amp for $100. Thats $250, and you still need to pick up wiring(the RS comes with power wire, though its kind of thin, you may want to pick up 8 gauge wiring on your own). A great sub that gives you the option to expand. Best $160 I've ever spent.
