Loud, Booming & Powerful

I have a hatchback and purchased this to complete my system (I have a separate 70x4 amp powering my other speakers). I hooked this tube up and it is a monster!
I completely agree with other opinions - it is loud and I only keep the volume on the tube at about halfway. I also have a level adjuster on my amp and I keep that at halfway too. At this level, the sub is loud. If loud and boomy is what you are looking for, then this is the sub for you. If you like tight, crisp bass - pass on this and try a sub that is not ported. If I were going to do it again, I would buy the 8inch sub to save a little money and space in my hatch.
HOWEVER, this sub definitely rocks and if this is the affect that you are looking for, by all means buy it - you will not be disappointed. It is well constructed. It has volume and crossover adjustment. I found the straps to be somewhat useless as I mounted the sub longways in my trunk (it slid out of the straps when I accelerated). I fixed that problem by buying some velcro.
